The war in Iran is steadily approaching the status of the most stupid and dangerous interventionist war ever to have been started unconstitutionally by a U.S. president. American forces flew and sailed off toward the Middle East as if it were 1944-45, not 2026. Apparently, Trump and the generals thought that this war would be a short and victorious affair, forgetting that nothing in World War Two was short and victorious, notwithstanding the Cult of World War Two’s favorite photo, that of Japan’s leaders surrendering on a sunny day on the deck of the USS Missouri in Tokyo Bay in September 1945.
The bloody reality of the Pacific war – multiple blood-lettings at places called Okinawa, Iwo Jima, Peleliu, Guadalcanal, Saipan, and many other such brutal Pacific battlefields – have been mostly deleted from America’s modern memory, and only the photographs of huge U.S. Navy Fleets sailing the blue Pacific and the U.S. Marines – God love them all – raising Old Glory on Mount Suribachi.
The blood, gore, and heroism are now little remembered, save in old movies that are ever less watched. Memories of the war in Europe are likewise dominated by the film of President Reagan honoring the Army rangers who took Point Du Hoc from the Germans, photos of smiling and apparently amiable meetings among Roosevelt, Churchill, and Stalin, the famous photo of a sailor kissing a woman in the middle of a New York City street on V-E Day, Little is recalled about the fact that D-Day at Normandy came within an ace of being just another bloody and war-prolonging failure.
Today, the Curse of World War Two is in full flower in America’s unnecessary interventionist war in Iran. U.S. forces left for the Middle East – complete with the World-War-Two style photos and videos of carrier battle groups ready to conduct the complete destruction of Iran and the humiliation of Iranians in the process. In addition to refighting a war in the style that is now 81 years in the past, those war fleets sailed not to protect the United States from an imminent threat, but to respond to the demands, bribery, and worse than gangster behavior of a foreign government, one that resides in Israel but does much of its damage through the efforts of billionaire American citizens who have everything but love for and loyalty to the American Republic.
The war in Iran has not been the cakewalk that President Trump told Americans to expect. Our guest today, Mr. Joel Skousen, correctly claimed that the American citizenry has received little in the way of genuine information from the Trump team, although there have been many pieces of data that the president, his office, or his cabinet members have provided that seem to have little or no truth to them.
As is his want, President Trump has bragged multiple times about the war he is fighting for Israel, but the deal-making he said his administration and Iran are involved in seems to be his desire, not a reality. Indeed, the U.S. “peace plans” that have found their way to the media are arrogant demands for complete Iranian surrender. This foolish nonsense comes from a foe that Tehran is now beating hands down; Trump, Hegseth, Miller, Rubio, and Israel’s many paid spokesmen in the U.S. Senate have treated Americans to what must be called a “litany of untrue boasts” telling them about U.S. military successes, while Israel is in flames from north-to south and is about to runout of anti-missile ammunition; no remedy has been found for Iranian missiles that are demonstrating technical capabilities the U.S. does not have in its own missiles.
Our blessed World-War Two-like carrier battle groups have been seen, in repeated instances, dashing for the maritime exits to escape Iranian bombardment; we are losing combat aircraft at a pace that has not been seen in decades; and there is increasing media reporting that as many as 40 of the far too many generals that plague the efficiency and war-fighting capabilities of the U.S. military are opposing the Commander-in-Chief over Iran, perhaps because they are military geniuses or, much more likely, because they support the Democrats’ Wokism in the military and in the nation at large, and get paid for their unfortunately successful and traitorous labor in that regard.
What to do about this mess while the Trump administration seems to be building toward an invasion of Iran by U.S. ground forces? Again, this is a plan that smacks of the Cult of World War Two. We have no logistics nor naval capability like that of World War Two, which simultaneously supplied enormous, creative, and steadily victorious U.S. military operations across two oceans. Neither do we have the same overwhelmingly powerful industrial base. We also have no allies that are worth a good damn, and who, for the most part, treasure the path toward disaster that Trump and his crew have designed.
Perhaps it is time for the American people and those few of their representatives in Congress who are not owned by Israel, the ADL, AIPAC, the media-supporters thereof, and the American weapons companies, to put intense pressure via telephone calls, letters, e-mails, and peaceful demonstrations. This to let Trump, his Israel-First riven cabinet and his DEI-loving flag officers that it is time to stop his unnecessary Iranian intervention; to declare the cessation of that war on America’s part, and then get out let the mess resolve itself, recall all U.S. forces that are involved in that theater back to America immediately, and let the Israelis stew in the deadly pot they have built since 1948.
Yes, that surely will be a great embarrassment, but how much more can America be embarrassed than it is at the moment? More delay in getting out may soon make the U.S. military and intelligence performance in the war disgraceful as well as embarrassing. Finally, China has warned Israel to stop its plan to permanently evict 600,000 Lebanese from the Litani River area and to steer clear of any effort to create a new Gaza in that area. Given this clearly demented confrontation between two nuclear powers, the time to get U.S. military forces out of the region is now
